SPECTRA Researchers Publish First Open Access Study on Water Quality in Green Analytical Chemistry

The SPECTRA Project is proud to announce our first published research on water quality, authored by Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou, Vasileios Alampanos, Eleni Evgenidou and Dr. Dimitra Lambropoulou, in open access Journal: Green Analytical Chemistry.

Title: «Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry Based Analysis of Persistent Mobile Organic Compounds in Aqueous Samples: Method Development and Optimisation»

In this study, we developed and optimised an advanced LC-HRMS method for detecting persistent mobile organic compounds (PMOCs) in aqueous samples—critical contaminants with significant environmental impact. The research demonstrates enhanced sensitivity and accuracy in PMOC detection, aligns with green analytical principles, and achieves method optimisation for improved environmental monitoring.

Highlights:
• Simultaneous analysis of 66 PMOCs.
• Evaluation of different SPE parameters, mobile phases, and columns.
• A central composite design utilized to optimize the HRMS analysis.
• Method performance in accordance with the guidelines’ standards.
