SPECTRA Represented at Final PRIORITY COST Action Conference

The SPECTRA project was proudly represented at the Final PRIORITY COST Action Conference (Plastics monitoRIng detectiOn RemedIaTion recoverY), held in Leoben, Austria (02–05 September 2025). This high-level event brought together experts from across Europe to address pressing environmental challenges and exchange knowledge on innovative approaches to micro- and nanoplastics.

Our partners from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) played an active role:

  • Prof. Dimitrios Bikiaris delivered a talk entitled “Microplastic toxicity across biological systems: evidence from freshwater fish and terrestrial invertebrates”. His presentation highlighted ongoing AUTH research on micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs), while also disseminating results from both the GRECO and SPECTRA projects.
  • Dr. Nina Maria Ainali presented a poster showcasing collaborative work with the ENVMS Group (AUTH) and Prof. Dimitra Lambropoulou. The SPECTRA project was also featured through a dedicated poster presentation, raising visibility of our objectives and progress.

🌍 The conference provided an excellent platform to share scientific advances, strengthen collaborations, and ensure that research outcomes from projects like SPECTRA contribute to the wider European dialogue on sustainability and human health.

By participating in this international event, SPECTRA demonstrated its commitment to knowledge exchange and collaboration across the European research community.
