SPECTRA at the Greek Bioeconomy Event: Exploring Horizon Europe Cluster 6 Opportunities

On 8 May, Prof. Dimitra Lambropoulou participated in the CBE Info Day “Greek Bioeconomy Event”, hosted at the CERTH Conference Center in Thermi, Thessaloniki. The event brought together key stakeholders from research, industry, policy and innovation ecosystems to discuss the future of the European bioeconomy, circular economy strategies and collaborative opportunities under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU).

The General Session was co-chaired by representatives of the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia and CERTH’s Institute of Bio-Economy and Agri-technology, and included substantive discussion on Horizon Europe Cluster 6 opportunities, tools and upcoming calls with Dr Evropi-Sofia Dalampira. The exchange provided important insights into future funding priorities, strategic directions and collaborative pathways for research and innovation initiatives related to sustainability, environment, food systems and bioeconomy, all areas with direct relevance to SPECTRA’s ongoing and future work.

SPECTRA’s participation highlighted the contribution that advanced analytical technologies and environmental monitoring can make to supporting sustainable bioeconomy strategies and safe circular value chains. As the European bioeconomy agenda develops, the kinds of robust, validated analytical frameworks that SPECTRA is building become increasingly important for verifying the safety, authenticity and environmental credentials of bio-based products and processes.

The event also provided a valuable networking opportunity, strengthening connections between academia, research infrastructures, industry and regional innovation actors working toward a greener and more resilient European economy.
